ian and i still haven't come up with a review/rating system for the books he's read. however, starting this week he's required to write three short sentences about the beginning, middle, and end of each book he reads for his reading log (homework). i've included these three sentences where applicable. also, if he has a book report as part of his homework i'll include what he's written for that as well.

ian came home today (01.08.2007) with a little "book" he wrote called, "goodbye 2006 ... hello 2007!!!" in which he declared:
i will read 365 books in 2007. i will try to read every day because it will help me to get better at reading and writing.while we try to read every day i have to admit that we're not so good on the weekends. i hate even more to have to admit that the tv wins out over books. but when he does read, ian can read and read and read and read. so, to encourage him, i suggested we keep track of how many books he actually reads during the year; i'm pretty confident that he can accomplish his goal.
